What's a bus trip? A New Era Bus Trip is mobile democracy at its best. We fill the New Era Bus with volunteer riders, go to a district in Colorado, and talk to thousands of voters in one afternoon--having more of an impact on Colorado elections than any tv ad or mail piece could dream of. We're bringing back people-to-people politics one Bus Trip at a time. All riders are invited back to the post-trip New Era party for food, beverages, music, and a night of tomfoolery at a local bar or venue. "Ok, I need a little more than that..." At the end of the day, our mission with the Bus Project is to create a more informed and engaged electorate. We want to make sure voters are aware and educated about the issues and candidates on their ballot. To do this, we frame the conversation around the famous 6 E's: -
Education -
Environment -
Equality -
Economy -
Election Reform -
'Ealthcare (with no h) We let voters know where the candidates stand on each issue. After that, the choice is up to them. Oh, and we also explain and answer questions about all those confusing ballot initiatives. And if the voter wants to sign up to vote by mail? Well, we do that too. During the off-year, we use the bus to talk to voters about important pieces of legislation and provide easy ways for them to make their voices heard.
